Terms & Conditions of Grooming
1. YOUR PET’S HEALTH AND WELFARE: By attending you appointment you the owner confirm that your dog is fit and healthy. Grooming of sick or elderly dogs is entirely at owner’s risk. I do not take responsibility if your dog develops allergic reaction to shampoos, conditioners or any other grooming products. (Please do inform me of ANY irritations as there are measures I can implement to minimise certain factors)
2. MY SAFETY: I reserve the right to muzzle your dog if it represents danger to me. Any dog who shows aggression to people or other dogs will not be accepted for grooming. Please let me know beforehand if your dog has behavioural problems.
3. GROOMING ACCIDENTS: Accidents can happen I use very sharp professional scissors and clippers on a moving object (your dog) every precaution will be taken to prevent any injury. If an accident occurs in which I need to take your dog to a local vet please be aware you may be liable for any costs.
4. NEGLECTED & MATTED COATS: I do not accept liability for any conditions arising following the clipping of a matted dog. This can include irritation, redness or nicks. Conditions can begin underneath knots and mats which will only be seen once the knots/ mats have been removed. I will advise if I feel a vet needs to take a look. Be aware it will feel odd to your dog to have all these knots removed so please be vigilant in the days following a clip off to prevent any unnecessary injuries occurring from scratching after a clip down.
5. EAR PLUCKING: Removing the hair can irritate the delicate skin of ear canals and lead to ear problems. Plucking the hair from a dogs ear canal leaves minute openings on the skin where bacteria could settle more easily. I only pluck ears if it is requested by the owner, and the dog is in the salon frequently enough. Or I will advise to seek vet advice if there are issues present or I can also show you the owner how to maintain removing the hair weekly at home which minimises risks from plucking ear hair.
6. FLEAS/TICKS: If your dog is found to have fleas and I have not been informed by you the owner there will be an additional cost of €10 to pay for the products required for me to treat the salon. If you have informed me there will not be an additional fee as I will take extra steps in the bathing process to maximise the effect of washing them all off the dog during the bath.
7. ANAL GLANDS: I do not perform anal gland expression as part of any service offering. It’s my philosophy that this process should be only performed by licensed veterinary person, and only when medically necessary. I believe that anal gland expression should not be a recurring procedure applied to a healthy animal, as serious consequences can result.
8. TIME KEEPING: I work by appointment only. Please be punctual. If you are late more than 10/15 mins, your appointment will be rescheduled. Most grooms take 2 hours or more depending on the size and the temperament of the dog, and its coat condition. You will be advised what time to collect your dog. Please be punctual (early) as I CAN NOT accept the next dog until the previous dog has left. I will wave to you from my window as soon as I am ready for you to enter the salon to collect your dog.
9. CANCELLATION: I request 1-2 days (24 - 48 hours) notice if you need to cancel your appointment. Less than this and your deposit will be lost and a new deposit will need to be paid in order to secure the next scheduled appointment. If you do not arrive for your appointment (No Show), a No Show fee (Payment in Full) will be charged.
10. PAYMENTS: Please use the online booking Customer Portal where possible, payment plans can be set up for regular 2, 4, 6, 0r 8 week rolling appointments, irregular and once off appointments will be sent a payment link for deposits
11. GROOM FEEDBACK: If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your pet’s groom please me know asap. You will receive a thank you email – please reply to this with any issues or questions you have and I will reply as soon as possible.
12. PHOTOGRAPHS: Your dog may be photographed before, during and after their groom. Photographs may be used on my website, social media or other printed materials.
